Job Summary/Description

Project Designer 1- Electrical

Entry level drafting position. Provide drafting, technical, & document support for engineering and design staff to develop Contract Documents for the Construction Industry. Very close supervision & direction will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Drawing building systems utilizing Revit Software as directed by more senior level engineers & designers. Draw building systems per Red-Line sketches from engineers & designers.

Qualifications

  • Obtain experience with Revit, MS Word & Excel, and complete the Edmond’s Revit Training Course. Recommended to have a 2 year Associates Degree or Engineering Technology Degree. No job experience required.

Salary Range

$13/hr – $30/hr and eligible for Project & Sales Incentive Plans.

Electrical Project Engineer 2- Tuscaloosa

Job Summary

Mid-level design position. Provide entire system design for contract documents for the construction industry. Minimal supervision or direction should be required at this level.

Responsibilities

  • Design entire building systems utilizing Revit Software. Be capable of providing entire system layout, sizing, utilization of system sizing/load calculation software, equipment selection, and design coordination with all other project disciplines.
  • Produce initial design layouts for space and other design team coordination.
  • Select, schedule, and detail equipment and systems, communicate/coordinate with other designers to complete the project design.
  • Review project checklists for initial project QC to prepare the plans for an internal 3rd party technical peer review and the final review by the Project Manager (PM).
  • Client contact and coordination shall be done under direct supervision of a more senior level Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Perform existing building assessments for the purpose of producing existing building plans.
  • Begin performing Construction Administration duties such as Site Visits, Submittal Review & RFI Responses.
  • Drawing building systems utilizing Revit Software as directed by more senior level engineers & designers.

 

Qualifications

  • Master & excel at the Project Engineer 1 level. Complete ALL appropriate discipline specific Edmonds Training Academy Training Courses.
  • Must have a 4 year Engineering Degree. Recommended to have 2 years of experience and have passed the FE exam.

Co-Op Engineer Birmingham, AL

Job Summary/Description

Perform a variety of routine engineering tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and production of contract/construction documents for the commercial industry utilizing company software platforms: Revit, Word Processing, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Qualifications

  • A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited US college or university.
  • Current level in college: Entering Junior or Senior year.
  • Ability to complete the cooperative education program in accordance with their College’s or University’s guidelines.
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles and techniques; of engineering planning; of equipment and materials used in engineering operations.
  • Ability  to apply engineering principles to practical engineering problems
  • Ability to use engineering equipment and tools, including computer applications
  • Ability to make, read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

Electrical Engineer-Project Manager 1

Jackson, MS (5+ years experience)

Edmonds Engineering is seeking a registered Electrical Engineer to provide entire system design & Project Management for contract documents for the construction industry.

Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision, candidate will be expected to perform the following:

  • Manage smaller less complex projects up to fees of $40,000 without direct supervision.
  • Act as a contact for clients on a project by project basis, and be lead for quality control and implementation of Edmonds QA/QC plan.
  • Log-in projects, prepare proposals, coordinate all disciplines,  and have the capability of stamping and signing documents as the engineer in charge.
  • Send all deliverables to the client.
  • Mentor less experienced Project Designers & Engineers.
  • Develop the project work plan, track & process RFI’s & submittals during construction.
  • Ensure all site visits are completed in accordance with contract documents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Professional Engineer license required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience recommended.

Senior Electrical Engineer- Project Manager 2

Job Summary

Independent level Project Manager position. Provide entire system design & Project Management for Contract Documents for the Construction Industry. Little to no supervision or direction should be required at this level other than collaboratively.

 

Responsibilities

  • The PM2 will manage larger more complex projects of any fee amount without direct supervision
  • The PM2 is the contact for clients on a project by project basis, and is the lead for quality control and implementation of Edmonds QA/QC plan
  • The PM2 shall log-in projects, prepare proposals, and coordinate all disciplines
  • PM2 can have the capability of stamping and signing documents as the engineer in charge
  • PM2 sends all deliverables to the client, mentors less experienced PMs, develops the project work plan, tracks & processes RFI’s & submittals during construction, and ensures all site visits are completed in accordance with contract documents

Qualifications

  • Master & excel at the Project Manager 1 level
  • Complete ALL appropriate discipline specific Edmonds Training Academy Training Courses, Speclink specifications Training course, 35+ hours of Edmonds Project Manager Training & Smartsheet workflow software training
  • Must have a 4 year Engineering Degree, be a licensed Professional Engineer, and have a minimum 10 years of experience, OR 16 years of experience without an engineering degree
