Job Summary/Description

Project Designer 1- Electrical

Entry level drafting position. Provide drafting, technical, & document support for engineering and design staff to develop Contract Documents for the Construction Industry. Very close supervision & direction will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Drawing building systems utilizing Revit Software as directed by more senior level engineers & designers. Draw building systems per Red-Line sketches from engineers & designers.

Qualifications

  • Obtain experience with Revit, MS Word & Excel, and complete the Edmond’s Revit Training Course. Recommended to have a 2 year Associates Degree or Engineering Technology Degree. No job experience required.

Electrical Project Engineer 2- Tuscaloosa

Job Summary

Mid-level design position. Provide entire system design for contract documents for the construction industry. Minimal supervision or direction should be required at this level.

Responsibilities

  • Design entire building systems utilizing Revit Software. Be capable of providing entire system layout, sizing, utilization of system sizing/load calculation software, equipment selection, and design coordination with all other project disciplines.
  • Produce initial design layouts for space and other design team coordination.
  • Select, schedule, and detail equipment and systems, communicate/coordinate with other designers to complete the project design.
  • Review project checklists for initial project QC to prepare the plans for an internal 3rd party technical peer review and the final review by the Project Manager (PM).
  • Client contact and coordination shall be done under direct supervision of a more senior level Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Perform existing building assessments for the purpose of producing existing building plans.
  • Begin performing Construction Administration duties such as Site Visits, Submittal Review & RFI Responses.

Qualifications

Job Summary/Description

Perform a variety of routine engineering tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and production of contract/construction documents for the commercial industry utilizing company software platforms: Revit, Word Processing, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Qualifications

  • A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited US college or university.
  • Current level in college: Entering Junior or Senior year.

Project Manager 2- Electrical/ Birmingham

 Independent level Project Manager position. Provide entire system design & Project Management for Contract Documents for the Construction Industry. Little to no supervision or direction should be required at this level other than collaboratively.

 

Responsibilities

  • The PM2 will manage larger more complex projects of any fee amount without direct supervision.
  • PM2 is the contact for clients on a project by project basis, is the lead for quality control and implementation of Edmonds QA/QC plan.
  • PM2 shall log-in projects, prepare proposals, coordinate all disciplines, can have the capability of stamping and signing documents as the engineer in charge, sends all deliverables to the client, mentors less experienced PM’s, develop the project work plan, track & process RFI’s & submittals during construction, and ensures all site visits are completed in accordance with contract documents

Qualifications

Electrical Engineer-Project Manager 1

Edmonds Engineering is seeking a registered Electrical Engineer to provide entire system design & Project Management for contract documents for the construction industry.

Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision, candidate will be expected to perform the following:

  • Manage smaller less complex projects up to fees of $40,000 without direct supervision.
  • Act as a contact for clients on a project by project basis, and be lead for quality control and implementation of Edmonds QA/QC plan.

Arc Flash Technical Associate

Job Summary- Provide support for arc flash projects performed by the company. Support will include on site data collection as well as creating single line drawings using computer software.

 

 

Summary of Essential Job Functions-
  • Visit client facilities to gather necessary data to complete arc flash studies.
  • Safely gather all the electrical data to create an accurate arc flash single line drawing of the facilities electrical distribution system.
  • Create single line drawings using AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP or Easy Power computer software.
  • Identify NEC and OSHA violations within the electrical distribution system.
  • Use completed drawings to install arc flash labels on equipment in client’s facility once the study has been completed.
  • Job will require travel approximately 60% of the time.
Qualifications and minimum requirements-
  • Recommended to have an associate’s degree or have trade school certification and sufficient industrial electrical experience 
  • Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems and equipment, including Switchgear, Panelboards and MCC’s, circuit breakers and fuses.
  • Ability to work safely around electrical systems from 12kV to 120 volts.
  • Ability to interpret and effectively use electrical one-line diagrams. Familiar with NEC and NFPA 70E.
  • Ability to make intuitive decisions.

  • Basic knowledge for sizing services such as wiring, lighting, ductwork, & piping from direct supervision of more senior level engineers and managers
  • Support senior level designers & managers by running software programs such as loading analysis for lighting, power, and hvac
  • Communicate & coordinate with other designers to complete sizing of systems, and review project checklists for initial project QC
  • Perform existing building assessments for the purpose of producing existing building plans
